Concrete jungle · Ingmar · · Jan 5, 06:56 AM

I have been spending almost one and a half years in Kyoto now. So I felt it was time for a little change and decided to go on a trip and spend New Year’s eve with some friends in…

New York? Paris?
No, it’s just the capital of the land of copycats. It’s TOKYO. The city of endless concrete, up to beyond the horizon, on all sides…

The city of glitter…

... and neon lights…

Some call it Future City… which holds especially true if you go to the skyscraper area in Shinjuku... pretty sterile, yet impressive.

But Tokyo has numerous faces… just cross the rails and Tokyo suddenly turns into colourful, trashy…

Where do you want to go today?

Let’s go to Tokyo Tower (which is 13 m higher than the original… what was it called again…?)...

... and have a look on Tokyo nights!

After that we went to some of Tokyo’s numerous clubs. We also had the pleasure to enter the one that is probably the most boring and shittiest club of Japan.

Can you see ANY girls?!?

But luckily we also found some places that were hotter…

And there we also met some Tokyo native females…

But those were too shabby and unfortunately (luckily???) beer was too expensive to get sufficiently drunk, so we abstained from making…

... to them, and therefore we didn’t need to go to this shop…

... and buy one of these:

Instead we just returned to our lovely hotel to find shelter in our cozy beds:

All in all Tokyo was tiresome, but joyful. Thumbs up!!!

Home cold home · Robot · · Jan 2, 08:40 AM

I moved again and I hope it is the last time…for some time.
The place is very very huge as for Japanese (signle students) standarts. Until now I thought it is an advantage to get so cheap huge flat in the center of the city! However it is not that sweet as I thought because the place is kind of cold. It is too huge so I cant warm it up however it is not very bad because winters in Kyoto are not very cold and not very long.

what Ingmar shown in his previous post is NOT a typical winter here, we hardly have snow and most o the days untill now was very sunny

I use an electric blanket and its enough to warm me up during the night.

room is cozy, designed in old japanese style. The rest of the house is normal with floor and plastic (actually not super good but you cant have everything) bath. A lots of space left I have no idea how to use it!

For sure I can organize parties there…however I am not going to the praties from some time and I dont see its changing.

so..I will just enjoy my free space..seriously i hate standard rooms 6 tatami and kitchen in the corridor. I catn relax there its too small. I am happier now.

Winter in Kyoto · Ingmar · · Dec 29, 08:10 AM

It was X-mas and I feel a bit of a pang of a cozy feeling, wonna settle back and show around some photos… of winter in Kyoto.
Without any stupid comments of mine. Just pics. Just to seek a contrast to Peter’s beach’n’summer’n’topless girlz sentiments.

Sorry Mary · Peter · · Dec 27, 06:50 AM

I live in a holy place. Only 50 metres away, Virgin Mary was spotted from a cliff over the beach in 2003. Thousands of people flocked to the beach to see Mary, and they made a little garden and worship place at the fence from where she was seen. Still many pilgrims visit this place. Even today there was a lady reciting the bible and saying her prayers.

I have never seen Virgin Mary. I tried hard to see Mary myself but I got very distracted because the beach is often full of pretty girls. Many of them do not wear bikini tops. They may not be so holy as Mary but seeing them does not require any imagination. And some of them look so good it makes one feel blessed anyway. The pilgrims may actually be secretly looking at the girls too, and ask God for forgiveness for their earthly desires before going to sleep and dream of Virgin Mary and little baby Jesus.

Mary gave birth to baby when she was still a virgin. Maybe this is a lie and she was a actually a very naughty girl, doing all kinds of stuff that the authors of the bible found too disturbing to put down in writing. And then she got pregnant because Durex was not in business at that time. And because she did not want to confess her cheating to her fiance Joseph, she made up the excuse that it was the holy spirit. Joseph believed her because he loved both Mary and the Holy spirit very much.

But Mary looks very innocent and holy, so probably it was a miracle and she really had a baby when she was still a virgin. She only wanted to have a baby from the holy spirit, because she thought all men are useless and did not like them at all. I am sure the girls without bikini tops on the beach would never think like that. So I look for them instead of Virgin Mary. Sorry Mary.

she said she doesnot like japan and japanese people becouse they have kabe-wall.

and they are so formal. and she is also very uptight, however the thing that, we have talked about it, means that she wants to get out of this state.
many japanese girls i know say the same..

however i forgot to ask weather it is japanese style – wall or western style wall.

If it’s japanese style wall i see no problem. It is very thin so that you can easily talk with your neighbour through it.

I know something about it because i live in machi-ya old japanese-style house…
